Subject: [Leica] rogue posting?

Et all;

As a long time Lurker, I have to come out of hiding to make a comment on
this latest subject. I was lurking in the days the subject came up to move
all the "for Sale" postings to Friday to make it easier to log on and get
the latest available items all within one day. This started with a couple
of OK's by the general active group and history was made. There was no vote
or open discussion. The Friday for sale just started up and momentum has
kept it going. As far as I am concerned, the "For Sale Friday" rule falls
under the definition of Anarchy.

I as a lurker, did not feel within my rights to make any argument against
the idea of "For Sale Friday", but it was not beneficial for me as I will
later discuss. From previous LUG posts I had figured the "For Sale Friday",
like all other things in the LUG, would not hold much momentum. I was
wrong. It is over 12 months now.

I do not particularly like the Friday for Sale schedule. I am very busy on
weekends and do not get a chance to read my e-mail until Sunday night or
Monday morning. I miss great opportunities to purchase equipment advertised
"For Sale" legally on Friday. If "For Sale" Friday had come up for a vote,
I would have petitioned for a change of day.

May you who have not sinned against the LUG rulers cast the first flame

Regards

Paul Franz
