Several years ago we got surprised by a tropical rain and soaked walking up
the volcano on St. Vincent. Although our R6 and M6 were rapped in plastic
bags and the plastic bags were inside our back packs water got into the
whole outfit and both cameras got flooded. I still remember how I felt when
I noticed that. Terrible!

Back at the hotel I opened both cameras, dried them with a soft cloth and
'baked' them in the sun for several hours. We never had any problem with
the cameras.
Last year one of our local Leica dealer had a Leica day and they would check
your cameras. All specs of my M6 (serial # 16813xx) were OK.

I guess we've just been lucky.
