[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]So this is a busy list, but it isn't as though you actually have to read all the messages, and there is much which is worthwhile, I wouldn't have found LHSA/Viewfinder without this list, or had the slightest clue about how lens's are designed without Erwin's posts, or just picked up the odd 'photographic' tip from reading Ted, Eric and Jim. So what if people argue, this is about photography and photographic equipment not race/sex/politics/religion! If there was one thing the list could do might I suggest the more experienced/loquacious members bear in mind that 600 of the 700 list members don't contribute, and probably don't want to on a regular basis, but one effect of the arguments and in references is to create a sense of exclusion around an 'inner circle'. That doesn't mean Erwin isn't THE authority on lens design, or Ted and Eric and Jim on 'photography' - just that there are others who might learn and contribute more if the cult of personalities was less self perpetuating.
