But if they are not mounted lying in strips on your light table or in medium format you find yourself using the term "Transparencies" which has too many syllables for many people and implies the film didn't come out. "These are not transparent! I can see the pictures right on them????!!!" So I think "Slides" has a nostalgic sound to it as in: "Honey! Was Disneyland always that Dark?" Mark Rabiner
