Eric,

I have not tried it with the F5 as I do not have the F5 any longer.  I am
told that it will work fine with the F5 since it is the same Nikon matrix
metering as the N90s.
Sorry I couldn't have been more help.
Metz does make a great flash though....just a bit pricey.

How about the F5, work with it as well? I'm applying for a job that gives 
its photogs Nikons (and the new F5 digital).
