Try wrapping the outer tube of the telescoping leg. Some use foam
tubes, though it is bulky. I've used a rubber and cork bicycle
handlebar tape which insulates as well as pads. No more skin loss,
and fewer dents in the tube. I'll give up my aging Tiltall when I can't
carry it anymore.
