I have the 50 2.8 Nikon, Focotar  and Focotar II. The difference I see with
B/W printing is an increase in shadow gradation. The Nikor may be a little
sharper in some respects than the original Focotar. All three are very good
and I don't think you would see anything that would appear to be image
degradation.  However if you look through a loupe, you will see differences.
