For those interested, there are chapters in Ctein's book "Post Exposure",
published by Focal Press, ISBN 0-240-80299-3, that cover Split filter
printing, and making contrast masks for both negatives and transparencies.
The masking method outlined here seems much better than that discussed in
"Complete Guide to Cibachrome Printing" by Peter Krause and Henry Shull. It
discusses the theory and uses materials available today.
