What were the bad and good points? I use a Kaiser Multigrade head enlarger. The price which I bought new and which can take up to 6x6 negs is about US$700. It comes with everything (including the transformer) except the lens. The good thing that I found with Kaiser is that everything is Modular. I can upgrade to a colour head, up to 6x9 cm neg size without having to buy a complete outfit. I have not asked whether it can be upgraded all the way to 4x5". For split grade printing, there is nothing like the convenience of dialing the different grades. The Kaiser has a count down timer so I can easily expose a portion of the total time in one grade and finish off the rest of the time with another grade. Dan K.
