Jim, I just got a cool Photoshop tip off of Adobe's web site last night on how to rescue shadows in extreme contrast (like a person backlit in front of a window and underexposed) that really works much better than anything else I've ever tried. If anyone is interested, email me, or go to the tips section of Adobe's web site for a tutorial. Very easy, and seems miraculous!
