I had an M4-P with a serial number that was assigned to the first block of M6s. I thought it doubtful that someone went to the trouble of rebuilding (gutting and downgrading is more like it!) an M6 into an M4-P, and figured that they probably made a few more M4-Ps than they had alloted serial numbers, so they used one from the M6 block. Or maybe someone just put an M6 hot shoe on my M4-P by mistake? At any rate, there's a fairly good chance your M4-P began its life as an M4-P, but somehow wound up with an M4-2 serial number. Glad to hear the test roll results were good and everything is working smoothly. Enjoy!
