Greg,

When Leica first moved the production of the M6 from Wetzlar to Solms they
produced the version which just said "M6" on the face. I'm not sure how long
they did this but I don't think it adds to the value. I see them
occasionally selling for about the same price as models with the current
"Leica M6."
