Ted

In the 1950's, Leitz HAD to label their Midland camera bodies "Wetzlar" as
the self-effacing Canadians wouldn't buy products made in their own
country. Hence, there was a decade of Canadian-made, German-marked Leica
gear.

Interestingly, the Americans didn't care: your efforts in both World Wars
spoke for themselves, and the US market of the '50's was content that
Canadians could produce products every bit as good as those of Germany.
