Subject: [Leica] Rangefinder adjustments

Hello all

I like to fiddle with bits and peices of equipment, I've lubed a couple of
lenses and cleaned a few internal elements before. What I'd really like to know
is how would I go about adjusting the rangefinder on my M2 or M4-2. Is it
possible for someone with a little care and a fine selection of minature
screwdrivers to do this? I recently checked my rangefinders with a focusing
screen taped to the film rails and I could see the rangefinder image was
slightly out. However I don't have any fast lenses which may explain why I've
never noticed any mis-focussing.
I know that there's one screw behind a cover between the rangefinder and the
frame illumination window, what does this do and how do you remove the top plate
to get at the other adjustments. If anyone know how to do this I'd be happy to
know

        thanks
                Andrew
