Hi Eric,

When I opened the box containing  my first R8 and took it in hand, I knew
immediately I had something special! :)

It never occured to me as others voiced...."it's heavy...it felt too
big.... or many other negative comments.  "Mine was an immediate love
affair ...."the best kind!" :) and I've never regretted having R8's to use.

It does feel like I have something special in hand, much like when I work
with the M cameras...........  "the feel!"  Sure there are folks who don't
understand that, but that's their feelings and too each his own. But as far
as I'm concerned the R8 is a truly fine machine to work with as is the M6!

And hey guys lets remember I'm not just talking about a one time, one
camera user here, as I've gone through a few of them since December '96.
Including one ripped off this year at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia. Partially my own fault for not doing what I have taught
many others.....always put your foot in the middle of the neck strap when
you put it on the seat or ground.       And that's another story!

But the R8 and the M6 are bretheren in feel and name! And to think
otherwise I guess I'd have to say, "you're mistaken!"  And may not have any
idea what the "feel" of camera's are about!   They are both  "quality
plus!"
