Ben:

I got my lens used and it had a B&W 60mm uv filter on it. I took it off
and have not tried taking pictures with it on. The front element is very
recessed in the Noctilux, and a filter when mounted looks like it may
interfere and cause vignetting. Remember the Noctilux only vignetes when
used at F1. With a filter it may vignette all the time.

The Noctilux is the king of gathering light in the shadows where other
lenses loose the detail because of flare. I assume using a filter may just
compromise this excellent flare supressing properties of the lens.

Robert Stevens
