Have some encouragement. I've happily used 'bug-eye's on M cameras, and
spent several very ahppy years with a 35/2.8 Summaron on my last screw
camera before I 'graduated' to M gear! It was a cracking lens (and I gather
now, rather collectable in screw type) and I always looked at the slower
speed like this: If I was willing to uprate the film by just one stop it was
the equivalent of using an F2 Summicron!
So, I'd say go for it, the lens is of course a little bulkier but
emminaently useable.
The most important factor in use is the clarity of the windows / goggles /
bug-eyes. These need to be clear and bright for ease of function. If they're
dull and pasty, misty or unclear then the whole wonderful viewfinder loses
its sparkle and life, contrast on the r/f patch goes too and it seems a
drag.
