Greetings, Most Recent One! To fully enter the Leica Brethren, thou
must go through the initiation rite. Though deceptively simple, it
requires great courage, determination and fearlessness. The full
passage consists of three steps, which must be taken in order.

Step One Thou must maketh thyself a suit of finest asbestos.
Thy suit will be thine armour and should reflect thy
conviction in thy first purchase**. Put forth great
effort in making thy suit, for it will be necessary
            to withstand the subsequent tests.

Step Two Thou must don thy new suit and present thyself to the LUG
            in all thy splendor.

Step Three Standing before thy brethren, thou must asketh, in a voice
loud and clear, the three questions: That of the Ultra-
Violet Filter, of the Black Tape and of the Red Dot.

If thine armour is of good hand, thou shalt be welcomed into the Order
of the LUG and invited to the Drink of the Islay Nectar.

** Silver suit for chrome or titanium finish camera, black for all
   others.
