The ICE feature is fantastic: it will help you in getting rid of most of the scratches, dust and so on, at the expense of a very little softening of the image. This scanner is a must for seriously scanning quality slides. The results are spectacular. As a matter of fact, I plan to completely overhaul the images on my web page with this scanner. Haven't tried Kodachrome yet, because I don't use this film. My work is standardized on Fuji slide film (mostly Velvia and Provia).
