I'm glad you were able to get the one you wanted and are pleased with the initial results. Just wait until you run some Provia or Velvia through it. You're in for a real surprise. Though all my M gear is black, I must say the chrome models are more attractive. And the performance of that 2.0/35 ASPH just can't be beaten. Did you get the Passport warranty on everything? Can't comment about the case. I use a Lowe Pro "Off Trail", that holds a body with any lens mounted in the middle, and two more lenses in side pouches. Works really well and, with the Tamrac backpack attachment system, makes a nice compact chest pack for hiking. Good luck and happy shooting. - --Jim Laurel - -----Original Message----- From: Steve Maller [mailto:steve@maller.com] Sent: Sunday, September 06, 1998 9:47 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] Yipee! I got my M6 Thanks to all the encouraging words from you LUGgers, I finally have my M6! I got a beautiful new Chrome body with a matching 35/2 ASPH in chrome. I ran a quick roll of film through it yesterday afternoon (Kodak TN400) and had it one-houred. They botched up the printing pretty well (as expected), but I didn't care much. I ran the negs through my Polaroid Sprintscan 35 Plus at 2700 dpi and I have to say I am amazed. As a longtime EOS user and relatively new Canon "L" user, I've never seen depth and richness like this in a photograph. Truly breathtaking. I also got the standard Eveready Leica M6 case and it seems really tight. Is this normal? Will it loosen up over time? Cheers! - ----------------- Steve Maller Burlingame, California come see my pictures at http://www.maller.com/photos/
