Hello Group:

Recently I spent some time looking at a beautiful Chrome, Leitz Canada, =
35mm 1.4 Summilux Lens, serial # 17780xx with two ear aperture ring =
which the current owner dated as the early 1960s and says it is rare. It =
is certainly wonderfully small for a fixed 35/1.4 and I am not sure that =
I have ever seen the two ear aperture ring. Closest focus on this lens =
is 24 inches.

Any information relative to this lens would be appreciated. I am =
seriously considering buying the lens if I can establish "what it is" =
and some idea if it's market value, if indeed it is something special.

Although the subject lens is 35/1.4, it is much shorter than the 35/2.0 =
ASPH. that I now use. From a small size standpoint, this lens would be =
very handy on my M6 as a general, all purpose, catch it unobserved type =
lens.

Thanks in advance for your help. Best regards,

Spencer Clarke
