The 300 definitely is worth the price differential. It's a more substantial
machine.

If you *do* get the 300, you'll have to buy a projection lens for it. The
90mm 2.5 Colorpan is a winner, and I use it to project up to 15". The lens
comes in two flavors, viz., a "flat field" that is useful for plastic
mounts and glass mounts, and a "curved field" which is better for slides in
the cardboard mounts.
