BUT...It is much larger - longer, wider, heavier - than the 2.8, and all testers seem to agree that it is not as sharp. That doesn't mean that it's not sharp. It means that it's not as sharp. But the size does somewhat defeat the idea of the Leica. You can easily drop the 2.8 in a jacket pocket - you'd better have strong pockets if you're going to do that with the Summicron! - -----Original Message----- From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Andreas Frijdal Sent: Friday, August 28, 1998 1:22 AM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: Re: [Leica] 90mm summicron or elmarit-m dear lug friends, i have been tempted by very good looking 90mm summicron at a reasonable price. checking on don chattertons and tamarkin sites the elmarit is usually more expensive should i conclude that its qualities are not ranked very high. it looks so nice, gives one add. stop and offers so much glass! btw i did not find anything on erwins excellent pages. andreas frijdal casalmonte san polo in chianti italy
