Dear Fellow LUGnuts,

I had a friend just return from Germany. He brought me a little newspaper
clipping with a photo of a new Leica Digilux camera. Its reminds me of a
Minilux but oriented vertically. It has a 1.5 Megapixel chip to record
images and uses a RISC processor. It has a single focal length lens
equivalent to a 35mm and a small built-in flash. The price is listed as
1798 Marks.

Anyone else hear about this? How does 1798 Marks change into $$$ ?

I was going to look into a 75 Summilux lens but at this point, I'd rather
wait to see if I decide to buy my first digital camera. Unfortunately, no
release date was mentioned. With Photokina coming up next month, I wonder
whether this camera will be released for sale or just for show to generate
interest.

Happy shooting,

Richard
