I often use a shoe-mount separate finder when photographing with the Elmarit. My third version originally came with a lenshood with no cutout, but I found a newer one that had a cutout. So they do exist, but they may not be easy to find. I don't find the cutout to be all that helpful, though. It still leaves a lot of the finder blocked.
