Subject: [Leica] ELCAN for military observations

Hello to all:

today I was on a professional duty tour at an airforce base. Besides
current fighter airplanes, there were also a couple of formerly used
aircraft types on display.
I noticed than one of these decommissioned airplanes, a subtype of the
Mirage V, had a special outfit for military observations (dating from the
end of the sixties up to the end of the seventies) consisting of, amongst
others, a whole battery of high performance observation lenses for air
reconnaissance at low altitude. These turned out to be ELCAN (Made in
Canada). Is that not a lens made by Leica?
