Could you enlighten me?>> It stands for 'Significant Other'. The English language is sadly lacking for words that describe the varying natures of relationships. If one is not married, 'boyfriend/girlfriend' sound woefuly immature. Plus, 'S.O', allows for other permutations: 1. Husband and Wife 2. Man and woman in a loving relationship, that happen not to be married. 3. Homosexuals in a long-term relationship can use S.O. without using a gender-specific term. A man or woman who is gay can refer to his/her 'S.O', and it can be taken by the listener to be whatever... Regards, Denton Taylor _______________________________ Photogallery at www.dentontaylor.com
