Vahan, I have noticed that if I store the lens with the distance scale at
infinity, it catches at a point lust short of infinity when I start to use it.
I now store the lens with the distance scale at the minimum focusing distance
and have no problem. I theorize that the rubber like substrate of the
focusing ring has a short term memory that retains a small dip where the focus
is set.

Anyway, I agree with you that it is a nice lens and a great piece of
engineering.
