A local camera store (Swanlund's) here in little Eureka is owned by a man
whose many collectibles include some Adams original prints on display in a
small gallery. On my first visit, I spent almost an hour staring at the
seven prints, initially awed, then being pleasantly surprised by little
revelations in each print with every extra minute that I looked. I tried to
burn into my own mind's eye just how much tonal range a black and white
print can actually hold and how much of the grandeur of creation can be
contained in a piece of paper. I go back at least once a month for an
adjustment of my eyes and soul.
