Tom's soft release got my first real trial by me this weekend.  

Two things I noticed.  

1. I didn't notice it.
2. Things were 'smoother'


The 'feel' is much better.  I think the reason for me is that everything
my fingertip is on is moving. With the recessed button its just more
difficult to get a smooth movement.

Photos of camera bag interiors will increase ;) but I only got one that
I know of. Mainly because the bag I was using had a Benser insert in it
and there is lots of clearance around the release. I tripped it once
putting it into the case.

Tom's soft release is a winner for me, I'll take 3.
