Subject: [Leica] M-lens eyes, 24mm lens versions

1.  I'm looking at a 135/2.8 M lens.  It has what
I understand are "eyes".  What is the purpose
of these items?  The lens is an Elmarit Canada
version.

2. What versions of the 24/2.8 M-lens were made,
and are any better or worse than others (yes, I
know the asph big $$ version is best - my question
concerns the others).
