OK I've said my piece as some of you know I do on occaision and I realize I'll tick a few off! Do you know what? That's their problem, not mine! :) let 'er fly! :) ted>> calm down Ted, it'll be all right. However, you are absolutely correct. I don't own an R-8. I have never even seen one in person (Ogden being somewhat off the beaten path) but I have an R-3 and an M-3 and the first time I took my CL out of its box I knew, as you did, that I held a wonderful machine in my hands, one that I used to shoot some of the best pictures in my life and still do. But face it, Ted, there are some equipment freaks who will micro-analyze everything, complaining that the knurling on the lens ring is wrong, or the frame on the eye piece is the wrong shape, or some such. They are fools. The true photographer appreciates a fine tool, but having one that is not perfect in the eyes of others matters not a whit -- I'm going to pop a roll into a lovely little 2 by 3 Speed Graphic I just picked up today and play with that (it has a graflok back and RH 10 holder) and I am positive it won't be as convenient to use as a Leica, but the pictures will be just as much fun to take. charlie trentelman ogden, Utah ps -- any LUG people coming to the Family Motor Coach Association convention in Ogden in August? look me up -- I'll be covering the convention full time for the Ogden Standard-Examiner.
