The camera companies want you to believe that you will need a distinct lens for each circumstance you will run into.  Obviously, there is a big difference in the uses for a 21mm lens and a 90mm, but 75mm and 90mm?  As Cartier-Bresson reminds us, sometimes less is more.  If you stand there rifling through your camera bag trying to decide whether a 50mm or 75mm lens is better for that shot, chances are you will have missed your picture, unless you're shooting trees.  Besides, one of the big arguments for the M system against SLRs is its supposed compactness and portability.  A Billingham bag full of 15 pounds worth of equipment isn't that portable.

That is a different issue entirely.  It's your money.
