I think some of those having a problem focusing wide angle lenses on the R cameras have yet to learn that the best bet is to screw the lens focusing ring right out to it's closest focus point! Then focus from there (a completely out of focus screen) to the image you want in focus. It works quite well. The reason for this is the eye reacts to going from a completely out of focus viewfinder to seeing the image pop into focus and recognize the "in focus"image. Rather than going from everything in focus while set at infinity and trying to screw the lens to the point of closer focus required. Try it it, I have used this method for years. If in doubt turn the lens from the infinity point to the close point you require and see how much difficulty you have getting it right on the mark. Then screw the lens to it's limit of close focus, you don't need to look through the lens while doing this just spin the ring to it's full extent, then put the camera to your eye and bring things into focus. A few times and you'll get the hang of it and begin to use it. Then you can see how much easier this makes focusing wide lenses on any R camera. ted
