A couple of months ago I queried this erudite group about an obsolete 
part for a Bogen tripod. Not even bona fide Bogen dealers could 
obtain the item.

Well, sonuvagun,I finally called the Bogen parts people myself and 
spoke with a chap who knew what I was looking for, took my order and 
shipped promptly.  The package arrived today.

So I guess the moral is not to hesitate to contact the source.
