Good choice.  Can't carry much more than you mentioned, especially
without getting uncomfortable.  But I've skiied all day with such and
hardly know it's there.  Small strobe will fit in outside pocket and
small tripod will strap on bottom.  You can even wear with the backpack
if traveling with someone who can unhook the two.  Then you can swing
the Orion around to the front without taking off the pack.

If you are talking Ms, you might look into the Lightware belt and
attachment system.  looks perfect for climbing.
