The advert on pp.24-25 describes the one-off M6 with HCB's autograph and his birthdate as serial number. It will be auctioned at Christie's in London on 11 June, with the proceeds going to a charity. The expected price is 30.000 dollars (or pounds, don't remember). Comes in a Louis Vuitton special box, with the Elmar 2.8 50mm lens in platinum finish. Page 24 has a picture of the Leica IIIG because that was the first Leica HCB used in 1932. The accompanying text briefly summarises HCB's achievements and contains a quote in which he says that he sometimes uses a 90mm lens for landscapes, occasionally a 35mm, but that he has never made a picture with a 135mm. He talks about the spontaneity of taking pictures and the importance of the element of surprise. He describes his Leica as his notebook, fast, discreet, not much bigger than his hand. He also talks about his frequent visits and connections with the people at Wetzlar. At the end, he says that without the Leica many of the images would be just fleeting memories.
