The winder and its requisite batteries make the "compact" R-bodies weigh = a half-pound more than the SL; besides I prefer to use full manual control and with the SL's smooth thumb-winding action, continuously-variable shutter and bright viewfinder I prefer it to my winder-ized R4sP bodies with the electric release. Let me know when you're ready to sell your SL - I'll replace one of my R-bodies with it! - -Doug
