I compared it with my 70-180 apo ( 180mm ) & the new Elmarit exhibits more "punch". Clearly, more sharpness & contrast; the mtf charts must be outstanding ;-)! My initial tests were done with the new E200 which really impressed me as well. I'll be doing more comparisons using Fuji Astia film & will post my impressions of the results. Per your conversation, I will always be carrying my R8/handgrips when I'm using my winders; I would not enjoy being out on a shoot & have my winders go dead :-( ! I got un subscribed like a lot of other folks; but, I'm happy at being back on the LUG. I must admit to serious withdrawal problems when I was not able to get my daily LUG portion :-)! Tom D.
