No, don't get the previous version. It's a very old formula, and the new one is so much better - wide open - that I think it's worth the difference in price. If you decide to get a non-aspheric version, consider the Summicron rather than the Summilux. The Summicron focuses closer, and wide open, it's better than the Summilux at f/2.
