Carl,
Steven Wilkes did (or his assistants would run around doing) for his
book California One, about life (well, a New Yorker's preconception of
what he thinks life is like near the beaches in California).  Said (at
an ASMP presentation here in SD that left us locals shaking our
collective heads) that the publisher required it.

Major pain . . . .
