If I remember correctly, Henri Cartier-Bresson---no mean photographer---used a 50mm lens far more than any other. Not that his use of 50mm makes it best for you, but only that it shows what can be accomplished at that focal length! I can only afford one, and I'm considering the 35/1.4, 35/2, and 50/2. The 35/1.4 would be the most versatile. I'm also planning a lot of low light shooting. But they say the 35/2 is sharper (it's a little cheaper too). The 50/2 has excellent optics and it's the least expensive. I'm also wondering how good the 35/1.4 Asph is. If you could only have one lense, which one would it be? kj
