Lets not forget, Tom, that the rapid rewind crank for the M2 and M3 from
Photo Habitat costs $80. It's beautifully made, works great, fits
wonderfully. And costs way too much. But I paid it anyway. So I'd
certainly pay $20 for a soft release from you.

Just FYI, I have an adapter ring that allows me to use my Hasselblad
Pro-Shade on my 40 mm Distagon CF FLE. At the time I bought it new they
were $106. It's only a flat piece of anodized, machined metal with some
threads cut into it.
