There are several lens-hoods which will work on the DR:  in fact, ANY of
the E39 clip-on hoods will work.  Specifically, the following will work:

ITDOO
IROOA/12571		(recommended -- this one was sold with the early DR's)
12585			(recommended -- this one was sold with the later DR's)
12538			(NOT recommended:  this is a cheap & junky hood made from potmetal)
12504

As to mounting the lens, it must be mounted on the camera without the eyes
in place.  Then pull the lens head out and move the focus BEYOND the
minimum distance on the normal range;  this will put you into the macro
mode.  Slip on the eyes, and the lens will focus most wonderfully for
close-up shots.
