I have a Novoflex LEICO ring. It allows mounting a
M42 lens to a M39 body, but it does not give the
proper optical register. The difference in registers
between M42 and LTM is 16.65 mm. The LEICO 
ring is only 9.90 mm thick.
I think the ring was made for use with enlargers.
