I agree with all of this except that you left off the
second half of point 4.  It should read:
"... and charge the French, British and Germans
twice the price for it."

So it does make sense for said US tourist to bring
more film than (s)he needs, if only to sell to impoverished
European's who can't afford to buy their own local film.
