Subject: [Leica] Leica quality

My opinion about the supposed lack of quality is :
Leica Camera must be profitable in order to give the highest dividend to
shareholders. High profits mean productivity, a word unknown before when
Leitz was a subsidiary (in deficit) of the swiss holding Wild.
Productivity without robots for assembling parts like in japanese factories
means a huge and unknown pressure on the workers, and human being is not
perfect.
Now the M6 (and the R8) is just assembled in Solms. All the parts and
subsets are made in the portuguese factory where workers used to just
assemble japanese, canadian and german parts(R3,R4 an so on).It is new for
them to make parts and to auto-check the quality of their work.
In conclusion, we can be confident : if quality problem there is, it will
be solved because engineers can modify quickly the "process" of production.
