True, but as underpaid and underappreciated as photographers are, they are not the only ones who get knocked around. Reporters are in a similar quandry of oversupply and wage depression. The editors get pressure from ownership. The beat cop behind the barricade gets pushed around by his sergeant, who gets hassled by his lieutenant and so forth. Everybody in a hierarchy gets beat on by those above them. That's life. Photographers are only different in that they have no leverage (unless they have a really big name), because if they get the boot, there are plenty of other photographers who will do the job in their place.
