Hi Jeff,

Yep the zoom on the flash works with both the 80-200 and the 105--280. But
as you are aware the flash only zooms to 85mm, so as soon as you turn
everything on with the 105-280 the flash automatically goes to 85 setting
on the Metz 40 MZ3. The same ything for the 80-200mm.

My 70-180 2.8 is a non ROM version, so I can't be of any help there.
