Yes, one needs always accurate focusing capabilities. The filmplane has in
fact hardly any depth. So accurate focusing must be used to ensure that the
object plane is located at the film plane. DoF will of course mask the most
grave errors, but if the sharpness plane is not where it should be, the DoF
can not bring sharpneww where there is none.
